Q: Is Black Hills Gold jewelry by Coleman authentic? A: Yes. Coleman designs and produces Black Hills Gold jewelry as federally mandated from Rapid City, South Dakota in the heart of the Black Hills. It is authentic Black Hills Gold and you receive a certificate of authenticity with each jewelry purchase. Q: How does my order arrive? A: We ship primarily UPS Ground. Your jewelry order is shipped in either a small box or padded envelope. The jewelry is kept in a white leatherette case along with your certificate of authenticity and your lifetime warranty. Q: What is cabochon? A: You will see this in reference to some of our opal or onyx stones. It is a style of cut. The bottom is cut flat while leaving the top rounded. This does two things. The flat bottom allows for a smooth mount, while the rounded top reduces the chances of scratching your stone. Q: Can Black Hills Gold rings be re-sized? A: Yes they can. We offer a wide range of size choices when you order. However, should you need a different size in the future many local jewelers can re-size your Black Hills Gold ring, up or down, for a nominal fee. Q: Is a zircon real or synthetic? A: Zircons are real stones, not to be confused with zirconia, which is a synthetic. See our birthstone page for more information on the stones we offer. Q: How do I care for my Black Hills Gold jewelry? A: A simple low cost method of cleaning your jewelry is to use a small stiff brush with a mild solution of ammonia and warm water. Q: What is a Mystic Fire? I see it listed as a stone option. A: Mystic Fire is in the Topaz family of stones. It can vary widely, but is usually a mixture of green, blue, and red. Q: Other jewelry turns my skin green, will Black Hills Gold do that too? A: People whose skin reacts to other jewelry may still have that same problem with Black Hills Gold. Gold reacts less to that but gold typically needs to be 18K or purer to avoid it. Black Hills Gold is made with 10K, 12K, and 14K golds, so it may be unable to help with that situation. |
